Received an e-mail today from Global Pinoy Center:

In support of our efforts to promote the invaluable contribution of our OFW and in Celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos & International Migrants Day, we will be showing the Film Emir that pays tribute to Overseas Filipino workers. The film won Youssef Chahine award for Best Artistic Contribution at the Cairo International Film Festival in Egypt.

The film Emir seeks to assist all individuals in making informed decisions regarding settlement abroad, as well as generate their involvement in migration concerns and issues. It will also advocate for a stronger academic and media focus on migration issues at the same time promote Filipino culture and heritage in places with large concentration of Overseas Filipinos.

The Cineforum on Migration activity featuring Emir will be shown in SM Cinema 1 on 13th of December 2011, from 9AM to12NN for FREE. Please see attached synopsis of the movie.

In line with this, we would like to invite you, your family and friends to watch the said film on the above date at SM City Davao Cinema. We would appreciate your early confirmation to enable us to make necessary preparation for the event on or before December 12, 2011, Monday.
