Celebrating Tagum’s Brand of Music: 2012 Musikahan sa Tagum Photo Contest
“Harvest of Creativity, Celebrating Global Harmony”


 The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers.
 Photos must have been taken during the competition period from February 21 to 26, 2012
 Participants may use any digital camera.
 All participants must pre-register at the City Information Office, Beach Volleydrome, Rotary Park, Pioneer Avenue, Tagum City. Pre-registration shall commence on February 8, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.


Pre-registration can also be done online through email. All requirements should be emailed to tagumcityinformation2011@gmail.com on or before February 20, 2011. For queries, interested participants may contact the City Information Office at (084) 400-3381.

Each participant should grant the City Government of Tagum through the City Information Office the Non-Exclusive Rights to publish and reproduce the submitted photographs on all forms of media in the future.

RULES OF THE CONTEST

 Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure e.g. multiple exposures, flash fill, lighting, filtration, etc. are allowed.
 After the DAILY EVENTS (Feb. 21 to 26), all participants are required to immediately submit to the CIO’s Media Center located in the New City Hall a minimum of two (2) photographs as entries to the photo contest. Cut-off time of submission shall be at 7o’clock in the evening EXCEPT for the last day (Feb. 26) which shall be at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Submissions should be in digital format and should not be enhanced using any photography software.
 Each participant is also required to fill out the form containing the photograph’s information (e.g. name, title, date taken, etc). No name/watermark should appear in the submitted photograph.
 Judging should be done every day after each competition, based on the following criteria:

CONTENT AND VALUE 30%
VISUAL IMPACT 30%
ARTISTIC MERIT 15%
ORIGINALITY OF CONCEPT 15%
RELEVANCE 10%

• The judges will be selecting three (3) daily best photos for the daily events. At the end of the festival, the judges shall select the TOP 5 BEST PHOTOGRAPHS from the eighteen (18) daily best photos capturing the essence of the 11th Musikahan sa Tagum Festival 2012.

• The CIO shall form a three-man judging panel which shall select the over-all winners.

• The decision of judges is final and errivocable.

Prizes at Stake

1. Daily Winners shall receive a Certificate of Recognition.
2. Over-all Winners (Top 5 Best Photographs) will have the following prizes:
          1st Place - 5,000 pesos
          2nd Place - 4,000 pesos
          3rd Place - 3,000 pesos
          4th Place - 2,000 pesos
          5th Place - 1,000 pesos

All entries become the property of the City Government of Tagum, which will have the right to reproduce, exhibit, or publish the images for promotional purposes, indicating/acknowledging the photographer. The City Government of Tagum may display the prints in a public venue, or publish them for the purpose of promoting the festival in the future, without any financial compensation to the photographers.
