Moonstar88 at SM Davao’s Pinoy Musicfest

Pinoy rock band Moonstar 88 topbills SM City Davao’s Freedom Week Celebration in commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day. Moonstar 88 will be performing their original songs with some classic OPM tracks on June 8, 5PM at the Annex Event Center.


Formed in 1999, the band was signed to Sony BMG by 2007 and later to Ivory Records in 2012. The group has released three albums, Popcorn, Press to Play and Todo Combo, and collaborated on one track, Pag-Ibig Ko Sa Iyo, found on RoK On! Music Inspired By Ragnarok Online. They also performed a rendition of the APO song, "Panalangin" which was part of the tribute album for Apo Hiking Society.


After the success of their albums and hits like “Torete”, “Sulat”, and “Migraine”, Moonstar88, released their new album dubbed “This Year” after two and a half years of pre-production, demo and playing. The album carries 8 numbers, including a special track featuring Chito Miranda and an acoustic version of “Migraine”. It won the Best Design Packaging Category in the ADOBO Design Awards.
